Club Facilities
The Chobham and District Lawn Tennis Club was founded in 1981 with the merger of an older Chobham Tennis Club (previously based at Flexlands School) and Woodham Tennis Club (previously playing at Martyr's Lane).

Location: The Club leases the pavilion and three courts (all which are floodlit) sited in Chobham Recreation Ground (opposite the Village Hall) from Chobham Parish Council.

Access: The lease gives the Club exclusive use of the courts from 8.00 am - 10.00 pm. each day except Monday and Wednesday mornings 8.00am. – 12.00pm.and Sunday mornings 8.00am. - 10.00am. when the Parish Council opens them to the general public.

Maintenance: The Club maintains the courts with routine sweeping, pressure cleaning, repainting and resurfacing… In order to prevent damage the Club asks Members to refrain from brushing snow off the courts or pulling up any weeds.

All senior members are expected to assist with routine housekeeping duties. A duty rota is posted in the pavilion or go to the Notices page to download a copy of the latest version.

Booking: Club sessions (Junior and Senior) always have priority over social tennis, as do matches (usually two courts) and junior/senior coaching sessions. It is possible to book courts at all other times (see the booking sheet on the pavilion notice board).

Clubroom/Pavilion and Keys: The Club's wooden, chalet style pavilion next to the courts has a small kitchen area, toilet and changing facilities. Access to the pavilion is restricted to Full & Off peak members and parents of Junior members via a combination lock. The number will be circulated to all members. Access to the courts is open to all members, including juniors, via a combination lock on the court gates. The number of which will be circulated to all members.

Children under 12yrs. of age: must be accompanied by an adult at all times and those over 12yrs. will be expected to behave in a responsible manner. Any youngster found to be abusing this privilege may be refused access to the facilities.

Floodlights: Available on three courts up until 10.00 pm when they must go off. They may be used free of charge for Club sessions (Tuesday and Thursday evenings) and Woking League Matches. At other times Members (Junior or Senior) must pay for tokens (£2 for 45 mins.) and these are available from Heather Bazely and Mike Homer.

Dress Code: Club rules state that players must observe a "mostly white" dress code. Members are asked not only to comply with the literal interpretation of the words but also to recognise the intent that they dress appropriately for tennis rather than for jogging, training or football. The dress code does not apply to junior members.

Tennis balls: are provided for Woking League and Junior League Matches and for Senior and Junior Club Sessions. Members must use their own tennis balls for knockout matches and their own arranged games. Slazenger balls are available for members to buy at the Club's discounted rate. The balls can be obtained from Janice Ransom.

Senior Coaching:

Senior coaching is arranged from time to time, see notice board for details.

Bonus Ball Club: The Bonus Ball Draw has raised over £1300 since it started. All of which will help pay for maintaining and improving the Club facilities! Once a month a prize is paid to the owner of the number drawn as the Bonus Ball in Saturday's National Lottery draw. Please support this initiative when you pay your membership fees - see the membership page for details.

Guests: Members may bring guests to the Club. The fee is £2 for Seniors (50p Juniors). The names of the Guest and the Member introducing them should be entered on the guest list on the notice board. The fee should be paid to a Committee Member as soon as possible. Guests may play in Club Sessions at the discretion of the Committee.
