Friday Group Xmas Lunch

Chobham Goes Turkey! (For Photos see our GALLERY page)

This year, members of Chobham Tennis Club’s Friday morning group held their Christmas lunch at Pasha’s in Chobham.  Pasha’s specialises in traditional Turkish food; with a modern twist!

Suitably dressed for the occasion, members enjoyed a glass of fizz and some nibbles in the Club House before moving on to Pasha’s.

There, members enjoyed a selection of hot and cold Mezes served with Turkish hot bread.  This was followed by a Turkish mixed grill of lamb cutlet, chicken and kofte, served with grilled vegetables and saffron basmati rice.  For those with the capacity, Baklava (layers of sweet delicate filo pastry, filled with pistachio and dressed with seasonal fruits) or Sutlec (Turkish rice pudding) completed the feast.

Lunch organiser, Bob Goodge, said he wanted this year’s lunch to be different, but still in Chobham, and the combination of Chobham and Turkey worked really well.

Pasha’s owner, Max Turker, said that Pasha’s has been at the heart of Chobham village for fifteen years and was always pleased to host village events.

Chobham Tennis Club has been in Chobham for nearly forty years and is a small and friendly club that is active both competitively and socially throughout the year.  The Club welcomes players of all standards.  Interested in finding out more?  Go to the Club’s website ( or call the Club’s Membership Secretary Roger Rossi on 07807 786532.
